VideoToCourse ("we", "us", or "our") operates the website videoextract.ai (the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding that information. • Account information — When you sign in with Google we receive your name, email address, and profile picture from Google OAuth. We store these to identify your account and personalise your experience.
• Video URLs and passcodes — When you submit a YouTube or Zoom recording link (and optional passcode) to generate a course, we store that URL temporarily to process the video and permanently as part of the course record associated with your account.
• Generated course content — Transcripts, segment titles, summaries, quiz questions, and exercises produced by our AI pipeline are stored in our database linked to your account.
• Usage data — We collect standard web analytics data (page views, referrers, device type) via Google Analytics to understand how the Service is used. This data is aggregated and not linked to individual users.

• To create and manage your account
• To process your videos and generate course content
• To associate courses with your account so you can access them later
• To improve the Service based on aggregate usage patterns
• To communicate with you about your account or the Service (if needed)

We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

We use the following third-party services to operate the Service:

• Google OAuth — for authentication. Governed by Google's Privacy Policy.
• OpenAI — for AI transcript analysis, topic detection, and content generation. Audio transcripts and text are sent to OpenAI's API. Governed by OpenAI's Privacy Policy.
• Groq — for fast audio transcription via Whisper. Audio files are sent to Groq's API. Governed by Groq's Privacy Policy.
• Neon (PostgreSQL) — our cloud database provider where course data and user records are stored.
• Cloudflare R2 — for cloud storage of video files uploaded from Zoom recordings.
• Vercel — our hosting provider. Governed by Vercel's Privacy Policy.

We retain your account information and course content for as long as your account is active. If you wish to delete your account and all associated data, please contact us at the email address below and we will process your request within 30 days.

Temporary files (audio extracts used during processing) are deleted from our servers immediately after processing is complete.

We use cookies and similar tracking technologies solely to maintain your authenticated session (via NextAuth.js) and to collect anonymous analytics data (via Google Analytics). No advertising or tracking cookies are used. You can disable cookies in your browser settings, but this may prevent you from signing in.

We use industry-standard security measures including HTTPS encryption, secure database connections, and environment-variable-protected API keys. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

The Service is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

You have the right to:

• Access the personal information we hold about you
• Request correction of inaccurate data
• Request deletion of your account and associated data
• Object to processing of your personal information
